  The Course

The course is 5000 meters (5km) long. This is an official UKA race measured course. The course consists of entirely tarmac pathed surfaces (apart from one 50 yard mud section and crossing the finishing line over grass). The course is once across the middle of the park and then 2 and a half laps around. Dependent on availability marshalls will be at all the most important parts of the course. There will also be chalk sprayed stencils and arrows to ensure you know the way around the course!

Please remember that parkrun Leeds uses shared paths within Hyde Park. For the continued success of the event, please keep to the left and give way to other park users. This won't hurt your time, it won't stop you from getting a PB and it will make sure everyone continues to to enjoy the event.

Please use public transport wherever possible when attending parkrun Leeds.

Wood house Road adjacent to Hyde Park forms part of many bus routes and there are numerous bus stops around the park.

Please ensure that, if you are driving, you park around the roads of the main University Campus before the residential roads surrounding Hyde Park. At the crossroads where the start is you can access the University Campus and surrounding roads. If you must park in the residential roads surrounding Hyde Park please ensure you park in designated areas. Please refrain from double-parking, parking up to junctions and parking on footways. It's not only undesirable, it's dangerous.

  Join us after the event

Please join us for a coffee after the event.

Its a great way to meet new people and relax after the 5k!

We go to 'Opposite' cafe which is situated opposite the large white Leeds University 'Parkinson building' on Woodhouse Lane, about a 4 minute walk from the finish line. Just about the right distance to have a good cooling down walk.

Its a really nice place that has a wide selection of healthy food and both indoor and outdoor seating.

See you there!

  Results And Age Grading
All parkrun events use Age Grading to help athletes compare results.
Age Grading takes your time and uses the world record time for your sex and age group to produce a score (a percentage).

This score allows you to compare your personal performance against other people's performances even though they might be a different age and a different sex to you - the higher the score the better the performance.

The scores can also be compared across different race distances - to allow you to, for example, compare a 5km time against a marathon.
