Appointing a new Trustee to the parkrun Global Board

On International Women’s Day we want to celebrate and highlight the role, contribution and perspective of women. As an organisation we are proud to be led by a female Chair but we have a long-term, ongoing commitment to equality.

It’s 2018 and yet women are still under-represented in physical activity, spending less time playing sport than men. 13 years of delivering parkrun in thousands of locations around the world has shown us first-hand that women are more likely to feel excluded, unwelcome and uncomfortable about participating in physical exercise.

We are simply not prepared to accept this uncomfortable truth.

As we work to break down the barriers to participation, we are committed to equality of opportunity within our Trustee Board and throughout our organisation to ensure that diversity, equality and fairness are reflected in the decisions we make as a business.
