Update: The passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Following on from the sad news last week that Her Majesty The Queen had passed away, we stand by our position to keep parkrun events open wherever possible; knowing the value they can bring to local communities, particularly during difficult times.

Our position remains unchanged.

We will not be asking any 5k or junior parkrun events to cancel this weekend (Saturday 17 September and Sunday 18 September). However once again, each individual parkrun event should feel comfortable paying their respects in the way they see fit.

We entirely support landowners who may request that we cancel, or volunteer teams who feel the most appropriate course of action is to not deliver their event.

Please check individual event pages and the cancellation page, in the usual way, to confirm the status of your local parkrun event.

Our thoughts remain with the Royal Family at this sad and difficult time.
