The magical 6 million mark achieved

Its been two weeks since my last confession. I have to apologise but the weather has been so good I’ve been out and about and not tending to these updates. Since I last posted we broke thorough the 6 million runs mark! You’d think that was significant enough that we’d have made a big fuss about it. But no, its simply business as usual. Last weekend we had just over of 70,000 folks run with us across the world and at both our 5k and 2k events. We also had in excess of 5,000 volunteers provide this service. There are now over 700,000 known runners who have participated at a parkrun - we know there are many more than that because there are many unknown runners participating each week. Pretty impressive.

Last weekend we initiated the following new parkruns:
Alberts Farm parkrun in South Africa and Hobart parkrun in Australia. We also launched Folkstone parkrun, Hazlehead parkrun and Woking parkrun in the United Kingdom. We hope your events went smoothly and everyone had a wonderful parkrunday?

We want to wish the following new events starting this weekend all the best. Don’t forget to than our newest volunteers as they launch these events: Elaginostrov parkrun in Russia, Hervey Bay parkrun, Maribyrnong parkrun, Mt Clarence parkrun and Singleton parkrun all in Australia. Australia are calling this Super Saturday!

Until next time, have a great parkrunday.
